We are always searching for things to do on days when the kids can not go outside an play. My wife enjoys crafty things and we would rather have the girls doing something with their hands than sitting in front of the television all day. One weekend my wife was out of town and the care and feeding of the family fell to me. I asked if any of them knew how to make a purse and from there we took off on the weekend adventure. None of us knew how when we started but by the time we were finished each had a new purse with their favorite character on it.
We spent part of our vacation in New York City this year. I went to see the sights but it did not take me long to figure out that the women had planned it as a shopping trip. When I saw what they were paying I quickly pointed out that I had seen the same purse being sold by a sidewalk vendor for less than ten per cent of what they were paying. They were just a quick to let me know that what I had seen was a knock off purse and they would never carry one. Silly me, I thought that for a thousand dollar saving there is not much I would not carry.
