Athough any two cards can win in Texas Hold ‘Em poker, there are some hands more likely to win a pot. The Top Ten pocket cards pre-flop are: 1. Ace - Ace 2. King - King 3. Queen - Queen 4. Ace - King 5. Jack - Jack 6. 10 - 10 7. 9 - 9 8. 8 - 8 9. Ace - Queen 10. 7 - 7 Unless the betting before you indicates a poker online player has a really powerful pair, you can enter the action with these hands. Why do medium pairs such as 8-8 rank higher than Ace-Queen? Because a pocket pair is a made hand. When you have Ace Queen or Ace anything, you are still on a draw to make a hand. In early position, raise with pocket Aces or Faces. Call the blinds in middle position with the other poker online hands. When in late position, with no raise ahead of you, bet a raise with the medium strength pocket pairs. You’ve got a made hand, and may drive out the tight players with speculative hands, narrowing your field of opponents and increasing your chances of winning. If you hit a set with your pocket pair, bet out big before the turn. Don’t let anyone else get into the pot cheap.
